How to choose software for a sim racing venue

Venue software covers two different jobs. One is selling and organising time: booking, payments, packs and memberships, customer emails. The other is running the rigs themselves: starting the game, letting players drive without staff, timing laps and keeping the PCs healthy. Some products focus on one job, some try to do both.

Start from how your customers actually arrive. A center that sells fixed slots to groups needs a reservation calendar. An arcade or a bar where people walk up and drive needs a launcher players can use on their own. Then check the game you run: most tools are built around one title.

  • Do customers book a rig at a set time, or buy a session and drive when they arrive?
  • Should players start the game themselves, or does staff launch every race?
  • Which sims do you run today, and which ones next year?
  • How many sites, and does the price grow with each one?
  • Who keeps the payments, and is there a fee on each sale?

Which one fits your venue?

Each of these products is a sound choice for a certain kind of venue. Here is how we would summarise them, honestly.

Choose Omnisim if…

You run Assetto Corsa and want players to scan a QR code and start their own race from the wheel, with sessions, booklets and passes sold online, credit debited only for the time actually driven, and the whole fleet managed remotely, across one or several venues.

Choose GTLane if…

Customers book a bay at a set time, you want memberships, gift vouchers and automated email, push and SMS, and you run several sims: GTLane tracks laps through SimHub and advertises 24 languages.

Choose ShiftOS if…

You want slot booking, waivers, gift cards and memberships together with an Assetto Corsa launcher and staff race control, and a modular offer where you add CRM or prize competitions as you grow.

Choose Multitap if…

Your priority is the race experience on Assetto Corsa: wheel-driven launcher, solo, traffic and group race modes, spectator broadcast and global leaderboards. Check its booking status, announced for late October 2026.

What Omnisim does not do today

We would rather you learn this here than after signing up. If one of these points is essential to your venue, another product in this table may suit you better.

  • No time-slot reservations: customers buy a session, booklet or pass and receive a QR code; they do not reserve a rig at a given hour.
  • Assetto Corsa only. AC EVO and Assetto Corsa Rally are announced as coming soon; ACC, iRacing and rFactor 2 are not supported.
  • No staff race control: multiplayer races are hosted by players from a lobby on the rigs, up to 12 cars on the local network.
  • No gift cards, recurring memberships or deposits; a pass is a one-time payment.
  • No leagues or championships with points and rounds; challenges are best-lap competitions between two dates.
  • No email or SMS campaigns yet, no point of sale, no public API, and no new session can start while a rig is offline.

How we built this comparison

This page is written by Omnisim, so read it as a vendor's comparison. Every competitor cell comes from that vendor's public website, read on 21 October 2026. When a page did not say something, we wrote "Unknown" rather than guessing. Every Omnisim cell matches our public documentation.

We left out prices on purpose: they change often and depend on the size of your venue. Each vendor publishes its own pricing page, and ours is linked below.

GTLane, ShiftOS and Multitap are trademarks of their respective owners. Omnisim is not affiliated with them. If you spot an error or an outdated cell, including about Omnisim, tell us through the contact form and we will correct the page and update its date.

Comparison questions

What is the main difference between Omnisim and GTLane?

GTLane centers on booking bays at set times, memberships and marketing, and reads laps from many sims through SimHub; its website does not state that it starts the game on the rig. Omnisim launches Assetto Corsa on the rig so players drive on their own after scanning a QR code, but it has no time-slot booking and supports Assetto Corsa only.

Can customers reserve a rig at a specific time with Omnisim?

No. Customers buy a session, a booklet or a pass online and receive a QR code by email. Each product can be limited to certain hours, but a specific rig is not reserved at a specific time.

Which sims does Omnisim support?

Assetto Corsa only, including its circuit, rally and drift content. AC EVO and Assetto Corsa Rally are announced as coming soon, with no date yet. Other titles are not supported.

Does Omnisim take a commission on my sales?

No. Payments go to your own Stripe account and Omnisim takes no commission; Stripe's own processing fees still apply. The subscription price is on our pricing page.

Do I need an Assetto Corsa commercial licence?

Assetto Corsa's licence terms forbid commercial use without written permission from its publisher, Kunos Simulazioni, whichever venue software you use. Omnisim does not sell or include this licence: contact Kunos directly.

I found an error in this comparison. What should I do?

Tell us through the contact form on our home page, with a link to the source. We check it, correct the page and update the date shown at the top.
